Nyflon 25

Electroless Nickel

Nyflon 25

Nyflon 25 offers excellent corrosion resistance, lubricity and release qualities for most ferrous and nonferrous metals. It is autocatalytically applied in a thin uniform deposit at low temperature (180°F with a 375°F post-bake) and is polishable.

Nyflon 25 has excellent adhesion properties. It has passed the 180° bend test as specified by AMS protocols. Nyflon 25 does not have the chipping and peeling problem often associated with most Teflon® coatings.

The standard deposit range for Nyflon 25 is .0003" to .0005" per side (7,5 to 13,0 microns).

Coefficients of Friction for Hard Chromium, Electroless Nickel and NYFLON 25 Coatings
Dry Lubricated
NYFLON 25 / Steel 0.17 0.07
Hard Chromium / Steel 0.21 0.15
Hard Chromium / Hard Chromium 0.43 0.26
Electroless Nickel / Steel 0.38 0.21
Electroless Nickel / Electroless Nickel 0.45 0.25

The primary characteristic of Nyflon 25 is its low coefficient of friction which approaches that of Teflon®. Release qualities are excellent for molding and thermoforming tools. Lubricity remains constant because the Teflon® is uniformly distributed throughout the deposit layer.

Nyflon 25 has a surface hardness in the 42-46Rc range.
